Hi! I'm Kayla :)
I am Brooklyn-based photographer and graphic designer specializing in concert photography and music industry graphic design. I started my career in the entertainment industry in 2017 and currently hold a Bachelors of Business Administration in Arts and Entertainment Management from Pace University. Furthermore, I manage NYC-Based math-rock band, Rest Ashore, helping them book shows, make content, and tour.
I embarked on my photography journey by capturing moments of Rest Ashore during their concerts. Through this experience, I delved into the art of color grading and skillfully merged my expertise in graphic design, which eventually shaped my distinctive photography style. Since then, I have had the privilege of photographing renowned bands like , Tricot, Alex G, Super Yamba Band, Teenage Halloween.
Additionally, I have documented BRIC! Celebrate Brooklyn Music Festival, Cafe Wha? Annual Cruise Party, Brooklyn Museum First Saturdays, Vu Vui Festival, and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Each opportunity has further enriched my portfolio and strengthened my passion for immortalizing captivating moments through the lens.
Currently, I hold the position of Marketing Coordinator at legendary music venue Cafe Wha? and its sister club, Groove. In addition to my marketing and social media duties, I create all of the assets used for digital and print marketing along with all concert and brand-related photography. I see myself creating more community-based, artist-focused, and engaging content in the future, leaving a positive impact on the artist community and those around me.
