Born to Vietnamese immigrant parents, my future composed of only two options; inherit the family nail salon or disappoint my parents and pursue a career in the arts. I chose the latter because I couldn't speak Vietnamese well enough to work in the salon.
I am Brooklyn-based photographer and graphic designer specializing in concert photography and music industry graphic design. I started my career in the entertainment industry in 2016 and currently hold a Bachelors of Business Administration in Arts and Entertainment Management from Pace University. Furthermore, I manage NYC-Based math-rock band, Rest Ashore, helping them book shows, make content, and tour.
I embarked on my photography journey by capturing moments of Rest Ashore during their concerts. Through this experience, I delved into the art of color grading and skillfully merged my expertise in graphic design, which eventually shaped my distinctive photography style. Since then, I have had the privilege of photographing renowned bands like Say Anything, Olivia K & The Parkers, Jonathan Scales Fourcestra, Super Yamba Band, Teenage Halloween.
Additionally, I have documented BRIC! Celebrate Brooklyn Music Festival, Cafe Wha? Annual Cruise Party, Brooklyn Museum First Saturdays, Vu Vui Festival, and the Vietnamese Boat People Fundraiser. Each opportunity has further enriched my portfolio and strengthened my passion for immortalizing captivating moments through the lens.
Currently, I hold the position of Marketing Coordinator at legendary music venue Cafe Wha? and its sister club, Groove. In addition to my marketing and social media duties, I create all of the assets used for digital and print marketing along with all concert and brand-related photography. I see myself creating more community-based, artist-focused, and engaging content in the future, leaving a positive impact on the artist community and those around me.
